Keiki story time held at Keauhou Shopping Center

Kona Stories Book Store, with the help of the American Association of University Women, will be hosting a story time best suited for children ages 3 to 7 at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the courtyard of the Keauhou Shopping Center. The theme is taken from the book “Cat in the Hat” featuring stories, crafts and snacks about different hats.

There is a $5 fee to cover crafts and a snack. Space is limited to 24 children and RSVP is required by calling 324-0350. Check in 10 minutes early at Kona Stories Book Store.

The next story time is Jan. 28.

Hot Hula Dancercise classes held

The County of Hawaii Department of Parks &Recreation in Captain Cook offers free, ongoing women’s Hot Hula Dancercise classes. Classes are held from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Yano Hall. For more information, contact John Little at Yano Hall or call 323-3060.

Thanksgiving concert scheduled at Hale Halawai

The County of Hawaii Department of Parks &Recreation along with the West Hawaii County Band is offering a free Thanksgiving concert from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Hale Halawai. The band will feature a variety of music about giving thanks. Seating will be available. Lisa Archuletta, graduate of University of Hawaii and Yale University School of Music, will be conducting the concert.

Quilting group hosts exhibit and craft fair

The Laulimi O Hamakua Quilters will host its first exhibit and craft fair from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the North Hawaii Education and Research Center. The group includes members who do weaving and spinning, knitting and crocheting. All are invited. For information, call Jodean Dela Cruz at 775-0768.

Interfaith concert held Wednesday

The 12th annual free interfaith concert will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 77-165 Lako St., Kailua-Kona. Every year 10 or more houses of faith join together and bring music representative of their church or synagogue.

Admission is the donation of two cans of food or a monetary donation to the Food Basket.
