Elks to raffle off a Costco card

Kona Elks 2616 will hold a drawing for a $1,000 Costco card to be given away Dec. 20. Raffle tickets are $10 each or 12 for $100 and are sold by Elks members.

Shriner lunch scheduled

All local and visiting Shriners are invited to lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fish Hopper Restaurant, Kailua-Kona. For more information, call Jim Dakan at 895-9101.

Transfer stations closed on holidays

All County of Hawaii solid waste transfer stations and landfills will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Residents should not dump materials at closed stations.

Thanksgiving library closures announced

All public libraries will be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving Day.

Kealakekua Public Library will also be closed Friday.

Vegetarian Thanksgiving celebration and spiritual retreat planned

Free spiritual retreats are scheduled at 5 p.m. Thursday in Pahoa and Hilo. Following Thanksgiving will be three days of philosophy classes, yoga and vegetarian food. RSVP is required.
