HONOLULU — A Coast Guardsman will be imprisoned for five years after being convicted of committing a lewd act on a minor on Oahu.

The Coast Guard says Petty Officer 1st Class Shane Reese was found guilty Thursday during a general court-martial in federal court in Honolulu.

He’s convicted of committing a lewd act on a minor in 2013. He’s also found guilty of making threats to the victim, making false officials statements during the investigation and wrongful possession, distribution use of marijuana.

He’s sentenced to five years confinement in a military brig and dishonorable discharge. He forfeits all pay and allowances and receives a pay-grade reduction to the military’s lowest enlisted grade.

Reese served at Air Station Barbers Point as an aviation maintenance technician at the time of the offenses.
