WAILUKU — Maui police say a Maui man late Thursday morning was pulled from the water off Hookipa Beach Park but later died.
The name of the 53-year-old man was not immediately released.
Police say Ocean Rescue personnel spotted the man floating face down.
He was taken to shore. Rescue personnel attempted CPR and rushed the man in critical condition to Maui Memorial Medical Clinic. He died at the clinic.
An autopsy was scheduled to determine cause of death.
