Island residents can still participate in Operation Christmas Child

Hawaii Island residents packed 6,000 shoebox gifts last month for children worldwide struggling with war, disease, poverty and other difficult circumstances. Although the collection sites are closed for the year, Kailua-Kona residents can still contribute by packing a shoebox gift online at samaritanspurse.org.

On the website, visitors select a child’s age and gender, shop through a selection of culturally relevant gifts.

For more information on how to participate in Operation Christmas Child, call 800-353-5949 or visit samaritanspurse.org.
