Sharlei Graham-Bernisto scored 14 points and Alexis Pana contributed 10 on Tuesday night in the Vikings’ 56-40 victory against Honokaa at Honokaa Armory.
Hilo, the BIIF Division I runner-up last season, jumped out to a 18-7 lead after the first quarter in improving to 2-0.
Markell Marquez led the Dragons (1-1), the league’s defending Division II champion, with 10 points.
In junior varsity, the Vikings won 51-37.

Konawaena 77, Keaau 18: Cherilyn Molina paced four scorers in double figures with 25 points in Keaau, and the six-time BIIF Division I champion Wildcats opened their season with an easy victory.
Aloha Salem scored 17 points, Chanelle Molina chipped in with 16 and Taylor Bates added 10 for the Wildcats.
Erleen Oguma led the Cougars (0-2) with seven points.

Kamehameha 82, Kohala 48: Riana Arima tallied 25 points as the host Warriors got balanced scoring in improving to 2-0.
Makamae Gabriel (17) and Camille Poe (12) also reached double figures, while Saydee Aganus had nine points for Kamehameha, which broke open the game in the second half after leading 36-25 at halftime.
The Cowgirls (0-2) were led by Na’ai Solomon Lewis (17 points) and Tezrah Antonio (11).
