Laaloa Beach Park, also known as Magic Sands, reopened Thursday morning, a day after the popular Kona park was closed because a 12-foot tiger shark was spotted about 20 feet offshore, Hawaii County Fire Department Battalion Chief Gerald Kosaki said.

The beach park closed around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday after the tiger shark was sighted. No other beach parks were closed.
