Jenny Chin-Mullis

Jenny Chin-Mullis, 58, of Hilo died Oct. 6, 2014, at home. Born Oct. 17, 1954, in New York, she was a retired financial planner.

Friends may call at noon Dec. 20 at Kaumana Drive Baptist Church, 388 Kaumana St. in Hilo for a service. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcomed.

She is survived by husband, David Mullis of Hilo; three sisters; two brothers; numerous nieces and nephews.

Antoinette Waiamau-Nunuha

Antoinette Geraldine Waiamau-Nunuha, 75, of Nanakuli, Oahu died Nov. 28, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 17, 1938, in Nanakuli, Oahu, she was a retired teacher at Waianae High School, an instructor for Lanikuhonua Cultural Center, a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints Keaau Ward, Waianae Lions Club, Waianae Neighborhood Board and Maili and Nanakuli Neighborhood Board.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. to Dec. 20 at the Church of Latter Day Saints Keaau Chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Services will be held later on Oahu. Family requests aloha attire be worn. Condolences may be posted at homelanimemorialpark.com.

She is survived by daughters, Lynnemabel Waiamau, Eleanormae (George) Davis, both of Nanakuli, Oahu, sons, Lindy (Heidi) Waiamau Jr. of Pahoa, James (Tammy) Waiamau of Keaau, James Shaver of Waipahu, Oahu, sister, Caroline Johnson of California; brother, Victor Leopoldo of Nanakuli, Oahu; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cindy Van Zandt

Cindy Van Zandt, 66, of Kohala died Dec. 12, 2014, at the Kohala Hospital. She was born in California.

She is survived by husband, Timothy Van Zandt of Kohala; sons, Travis (Malia) Van Zandt of Kohala, Shon (Jana) Van Zandt of Kohala; daughters, Shay Van Zandt of Kohala, Wendy Van Zandt of Kohala, Sooner Van Zandt of Kohala; brothers, Curt Crotzer of Santa Barbra, Calif., Colby Crotzer of Santa Barbra, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Louis Fuka

Louis Richard Fuka, 76, of Hilo died Dec. 1, 2014, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in New York, N.Y., he was a mechanical and structural engineer for the federal government, worked at McDonnell-Douglas, helping to design the Saturn rocket and the C-5A cargo jet and Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in Los Alamos, N.M. working with the Antares Laser Fusion and Superconducting Magnetic Storage Projects, and was a member of Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 22 at Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church, 326 Desha Avenue in Keaukaha for a 10 a.m. service. A luncheon will follow at Hale Kahakai. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Mary Fuka of Hilo; daughter, Mary Fuka of Colorado; sons, Louis (Lisa) Fuka of Austin, Texas, Joseph (Jean Moore) Fuka of Albuquerque, N.M., Daniel (Melissa) Fuka of Ithaca, N.Y.; sisters, Carol (Larry) Bereswill of St. Louis, Mary Ann (Jim) Bolt of Atlanta; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Rene Michele Shindo, 54, of Hilo died Dec. 13, 2014, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was the student activities coordinator and former science teacher at Hilo High School.

She is survived by husband, Howard Shindo; parents, Walter and Frances Tanaka; sister, Kelly (Daren) Kodani, all of Hilo; two nieces, numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Jack Loando Sr.

Jack “Jackie” Joseph Loando Sr., 67, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 27, 2014, at Tripler Army Medical Center. Born Feb. 26, 1947, in Kealakekua, he was U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran. He was a heavy equipment operator for McCandless Ranch, Guy Lam Construction Co., Hookano Ranch, EM Rivera & Sons, Inc. and Kahanakoa Construction Co.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Dec. 27 at the big tent at 74-550 Honokohau St., across the Honokohau Harbor for a 10 a.m. service. Lunch and fellowship will follow. For information call 937-4993 or 960-1511. The family requests casual attire be worn.

Daniel Holland

Daniel Ailaau Holland, infant of Pahoa, was stillborn on Nov. 28, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center.

He is survived by parents, Laura Holland and Timothy Fondren of Pahoa; sisters, Kahealani Poehere Fondren, Kailanaokapouli Mei-Ling Fondren, and Liliaikawai Jing-Yi Fondren, all of Pahoa; and grandparents, Daniel and Megumi Holland of Pahoa.
