Why the fee change on HELCO bill?
Have you seen the latest Hawaii Electric Light Co. bill? There is a new thing they call a “green infrastructure fee,” so HELCO can charge more, which it claims on its propaganda leaflet will be offset by another fee.
Right, what that means is the fee will be given another name and more will be gradually added to it, like the slow boiling of the lobster. Turn up the heat too fast and the lobster will scream.
HELCO has had green power in the system for some time, so why does it feel the need to make the distinction between green infrastructure and nongreen infrastructure now? Why didn’t HELCO do this when it first got green power into the system?
I’m waiting for the public relations fluffatron to swing into full gear.

Kudos for Humane Society employee
While on a Saturday outing with friends at Manuka Natural Area Reserve, we discovered a lost or abandoned dog. He was very thin, hungry and thirsty.
While giving some food and water to the animal, a call was placed to the Hawaii Island Humane Society. A short time later Scott Albecker arrived. He was very compassionate and gentle with this animal. He truly does this job because of his love for them.
HIHS could not hope for a better man.
