Lia Galdeira’s week just keeps getting better.

Fresh off being selected to the 15-member All-Pac-12 team for a second consecutive season, the Washington State guard and 2012 Konawaena grad exploded for a career-high 34 points in the opening round of the Pac-12 tournament against Oregon Thursday night, leading her squad to a 66-64 victory

Galdeira’s big night was not only a career-high, but also set Washington State’s Pac-12 tourney record for points scored in a single game. The former Wildcat added a team-high six rebounds and dished out four assists in 35 minutes of play against the Ducks.

Galdeira was 6 of 10 from 3-point range and 14 of 24 overall for the Cougars (17-13), who will face No. 9 Arizona State in the quarterfinals Friday.

Fellow Konawaena grad Dawnyelle Awa had six assists for Washington State in the win.

The performance against the Ducks Thursday was just another highlight for Galdeira during a career-season. Earlier this week she also garnered a spot on the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team — the first of her career — after being named an honorable mention the previous two seasons. Galdeira is just the second Cougar in program history to land on the All-Defensive squad.

Galdeira finished the regular-season second in the Pac-12 in scoring with 19.4 points per game, first in steals with 94 and also grabbed 6.1 rebounds per game.
