American Legion meeting planned
The American Legion Kona Post 20 will meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the VFW post. Dinner will be served after the meeting for $10. Call 325-6491 for directions and dinner reservations.
The American Legion will also hold a trash pickup along Queen Kaahumanu Highway starting at 6 a.m. Saturday at the entrance to Pualani Estates.
Blind and low vision resource fair planned
The National Federation of the Blind, West Hawaii Chapter will host a resource fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Hale Halawai.
The event is free. Those who have been diagnosed with macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa or other vision threatening condition will find information to solve daily living problems encountered with vision loss.
A National Federation of the Blind Low Vision Support Group meets at 11 a.m. on the second Friday of each month in the meeting room at Hale Halawai.
