HONOLULU — Honolulu authorities say a 25-year-old man is being treated for injuries received while hiking on an Oahu trail.

Honolulu television station KITV reports the hiker was airlifted from the Puu Manamana Trail Sunday afternoon by a Honolulu Fire Department rescue team.

Authorities say the hiker was with a group when he fell shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday.

According to authorities, the hiker fell up to 25 feet, then slid an additional 500 feet.

The hiker was transferred to a waiting ambulance after being flown to Swanzy Beach Park.
