Mark Albert Sehna, 64, of Pahoa died March 7, 2015, at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia, he was a former teacher in Federated States of Micronesia.

Patrick Leroy Paiva, 69, of Pepeekeo died March 1, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 7, 1945, in Hilo, he was a retired service truck driver for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. in Pepeekeo, a Vietnam War Army veteran and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Papaikou.

Friends may also call at 9 a.m. March 20 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial is at 11:30 a.m. at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Naomi Wela
Naomi Kuuleimomi Wela, 74, of Hilo died March 1, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she worked for the telephone company, Woolworth Inc. and Hilo Union School and was a member and officer of the Door of Faith Church on Kaumana Drive.

Scott Asai
Scott Hiroyuki Asai, 90, of Kapaau died Feb. 20, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kohala, he was a foreman with the former Kohala Sugar Co., retired as an agriculture research technician with the University of Hawaii, was a Korean War Army veteran awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman’s Badge and the Bronze Star Medal and a member of the Kohala Jodo Mission, Kohala Senior Citizens, Disabled American Veterans and the Hawaii Government Employees Association.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. March 21 at the Kohala Jodo Mission in Kapaau for a 2 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Nobu Asai of Kapaau; sons, Keith Asai and Kelly Asai, both of Kohala; sisters, Fumiko Matsumoto and Shizue (Charles) Tatsuta, both of Honolulu; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Miriam Elarco
Miriam Cha Elarco, 86, of Hawi died Feb. 23, 2015, at Kohala Hospital. Born in North Kohala, she was a retired housekeeper for the former Royal Waikoloa Resort, worked at Nakahara Store in Hawi and the Mauna Kea Beach Resort and was a member of Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Loando Ohana.

John “Wes” Ilaban Jr., 62, of Keaau died Feb. 17, 2015. Born in Honolulu, he was a retired heavy equipment salesman, operator and mechanic.
