June Rodillas
June Christine Swain Rodillas, 86, of Hilo died March 16, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Mountain View, she was a retiredfinance officer for the former JCPenney Store in Hilo, member and extra-ordinary minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and Nohea St. Kumiai.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. March 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by husband, Francis Rodillas of Hilo; sons, Charles (Patricia) Rodillas of Redmond, Ore., Francis (Martha) Rodillas of Hilo; daughter, Davon (Douglas) Lowrimore of Hilo; sisters, Jeanette Weddell of Orland, Calif., Sylvia Akiona of Hilo; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Sunao Kadooka
Sunao Kadooka, 96, of Kainaliu died March 6, 2015, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born July 23, 1918, in Keei, he was a retired tractor mower operator at Konawaena High School, retired coffee farmer, member of the Keei Kumi, Kona Hongwanji Kyodan, Shinwakai and Kona DAV Chapter 7 and an Army veteran who served with the 100th Infantry Battalion and received two bronze stars and Congressional Gold Medal.
Friends may call at 3 p.m. March 26 at Kona Hongwanji in Kealakekua for a 4 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire and no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Yoshiko Kadooka of Kainaliu; son, Neal (Lorraine) Kadooka of Kainaliu; daughters, Hester (David) Oka of Pukalani, Maui, Sandra Kadooka-Cowles of Maple Valley, Wash.; brother, Larry (Myra) Kadooka of Hilo; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Emily Kudo
Emily “Em” Fusae Kudo, 77, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 26, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Dec. 30, 1937, in Keauhou, she was a medical teacher at the University of Southern California Medical Center and a cancer researcher and member of Kainaliu Kumiai and Daifukuji Soto Mission.
Private services were held.
She is survived by husband, Takashi Kudo of Kailua-Kona; sister, Jane Sindiong of Pearl City, Oahu; brothers, Baron (Katherine) Sasaki of Kainaliu, Earl Sasaki of Honolulu, and Donald Sasaki of Kealakekua; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Herbert Kumano
Herbert Isamu Kumano, 79, of Hilo died March 3, 2015, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born April 25, 1935, in Olaa, he was a member of the Puna Hongwanji Buddhist Temple. He worked as a laboratory technician at the University of Southern California and retired from Glendale Community College in Glendale, Calif.
Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Jane Kumano of Hilo; daughter, Annette (Richard Lance) Kong of Los Angeles; son, Henry Kumano of Los Angeles; brother, Thomas (Dorothy) Kumano of Keaau; sister, Sumie Sueishi of Honolulu; two grandchildren.

Alice Hardee
Alice Louisa Hardee, 79, of Waikoloa and Fresno, Calif., died March 12, 2015, at her Waikoloa residence. Born March 12, 1936, in Fresno, Calif., she was a retired teacher.

She is survived by husband, Jerry Hardee of Waikoloa; daughters, Kim (Lenny) Sherman of Clovis, Calif., Lynn (Rob) Rostau of Waikoloa; brothers, John Najarian of Claremont, Calif., Elbert (Claire) Najarian of Sebastopol, Calif.; six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Tamotsu Muranaka
Tamotsu “Tamo” Muranaka, 88, of Keaau died Feb. 23, 2015, at Pohai Malama. Born Nov. 15, 1926, in Paauhau, he was a boiler room supervisor for Hamakua Sugar Co. and Hilo Coast Processing, a WWII Army veteran, member of VFW Post 3830, P&R Senior Bowling and various bowling leagues.
Private services were held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Hilo or VFW Post 3830. Condolences may be posted at homelaniememorialpark.com.
He is survived by sons, Lloyd (Bea) Muranaka of Summerville, S.C., Paul (Midori) Muranaka of Hilo; daughters, Leelynn (Paul) Lagat of Keaau, Tammy Muranaka of Waimea, Kellcia (Tim Machado) Muranaka of Hilo; hanai daughters, Tracey Yamane of Hilo, Ashley Pacheco of Waimea; brother, Rodney (Mitsue) Muranaka of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters, Yaeko (Frank) Nakashima of Sunnyvale, Calif.
