Diane Kanuha

Incorrect directions were published to services for Diane Marie Kanuha. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 29 at Kahaluu Makai, located south of the former Keauhou Beach Hotel on the grounds of the former Kona Lagoon Hotel, for a celebration of life. A service is planned at 11:30 a.m.

Violet Kaai

Violet Kawaimakaonalii Hao Kaai, 78, of Hilo died March 13, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born April 3, 1936, in North Kona, she was a retired bus driver for Laupahoehoe Transportation Co., kupuna at Malia Puka O Kalani Catholic Church in Keaukaha, and member of the Hilo Ohana Horseshoe Club and Big Island Horseshoe Pitchers Club.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. March 23 Dodo Mortuary chapel No. 2 for a viewing. Cremation will follow. A private service will be held April 4 in Puuanahulu. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by daughter, Leilani (Chilly) Kaai of Mountain View; sister, Julia (Allen) Lucena of Kona; four grandsons; six great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sarah Togashi

Sarah “Granny” “Aunty K” Kuulei Togashi, 79, of Keaau died March 17, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Dec. 12, 1935, in Olaa, she was a retired cafeteria service worker from Keaau Elementary-Intermediate School and member of New Hope Christian Fellowship, Keaau Kula Kumiai, Hilo Lions Club, Higashi Hongwanji Mission and Keaau Nutrition Center.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. March 24 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Thomas Togashi and Kelly Kajiyama, both of Keaau, Hiroshi Kajiyama of Las Vegas; daughter, Darlene (Stafford) Villanueva of Washington state; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Gordon Victor Sr.

Gordon George Victor Sr,, 60, of Las Vegas died Feb. 23, 2015. Born in Hilo, he was a naval officer on the USS Midway Naval Ship, a crew member onboard American Hawaii Cruises SS Constitution and Independence, security officer at Hilo Medical Center, Fiesta Station and most recently Wild Fire Casino in Las Vegas.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. March 27 at Malia Puka O’Kalani Church in Keaukaha for a 10 a.m. Mass. Scattering of ashes will be at a later date.

He is survived by brother, Joseph (Leila) Victor; sister, Pamela Victor-Wana; wife, Manuela Victor of Las Vegas; son, Gordon Victor Jr. of Las Vegas; daughters, Paula Solivan-Leon of Las Vegas, Kirin (Gregg) Hargrove of Missouri; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Herbert Imai

Herbert Masao Imai, 83, of Kainaliu died Feb. 16, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 13, 1931, in Kainaliu, he was a coffee and macadamia nut farmer, member of Kona Hongwanji, Young Farmers Association, Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation and Kanaueue Kumiai and an Army veteran.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by brothers, Masatoshi Imai of Honolulu, Patrick Imai of Kainaliu; sisters, Ethel Saito of Kealakekua, May Koike of Honolulu, Margaret (Wallace) Fujikawa of Kailua, Oahu, Mary (Edwin) Kawane of Wahiawa, Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews.

Bruce Moring Jr.

Bruce E. Moring Jr., 52, of Naalehu died March 5, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born April 12, 1962, in Goldsboro, N.C., he was a former police officer on the mainland.

A public service will be held on April 12 in Anchorage, Alaska.

He is survived by parents, Bruce and Merle Moring of Woodinville, Wash.; sons, Justin Moring of Chicago, Joseph Moring of Wichita, Kan., McCaleab Moring of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Miranda Moring of Anchorage, Alaska.; brothers, Barry Moring and Boyd Moring, both of Anchorage, Alaska, Brad Moring of Allen, Texas; sisters, Kim Moring of Woodinville, Wash., Amanda Perez of Summerville, S.C.; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
