No tsunami was triggered by two magnitude-6.8 earthquakes that occurred late Sunday near Tonga.

The earthquakes were recorded at 10:18 and 10:48 p.m. Hawaii time, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

Based on all available data, a destructive Pacific-wide tsunami was not generated, according to the center.
