Award-winning director Khashyar Darvich will be screening his two newest documentaries, “Dalai Lama Awakening” and “Compassion in Action” in Kealakekua beginning Sunday.

The West Hawaii premiere of the films, a double feature, is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. at New Thought Center of Hawaii. The director will present another showing of “Dalai Lama Awakening,” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the same location. The final showing, set from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday will feature “Compassion in Action.” The director will be present at all showings to introduce the films and respond to questions.

Founder of Wakan Films, Darvich is best know for his 2007 film,“Dalai Lama Renaissance,” winner of 12 awards. To learn more, visit dalailamafilm.com.
