The Kailua Village Artists featured member artist for the month of April is stained glass artist Bill Jaeger.

Jaeger learned the art of stained glass many years ago and he immersed himself in the art when he and his wife, Kathleen, moved to the Big Island in 2004. Each art piece is an original design of hand-cut glass fused together using the copper foil method. Jaeger will be showing a new series, featuring antique depression glass plates surrounded by stained glass. Each piece will have one plate in the panel. Jaeger will also be featuring newly designed “aloha shirts” with bamboo, coffee cherries, Hawaiian reef fish and pineapple motifs.

Jaeger will be working at the Kailua Village Artists Gallery April 10, 23 and 30. Also, a featured artists reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. April 10 at the gallery. Jaeger will demonstrate stained glass techniques used to create a panel, such as glass cutting and foiling.

The Kailua Village Artists Gallery is located at 75-5729 Alii Drive, Suite C-110 in the Kona Marketplace, on the mauka side, up the blue walkway north of Kakina Lane.

The gallery is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 329-6653.
