The Coast Guard is seeking the public’s help in identifying the owner of an adrift dive float located Wednesday approximately 50 yards offshore of Makena Landing Park on Maui.

Watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Honolulu Command Center received a radio call on VHF channel 16 at 12 p.m. from a mariner who recovered the float.

A 45-foot Response Boat-Medium crew from Station Maui is conducting a search of the area and a Maui Fire Department crew conducted a search of the parking lot. There are no missing persons or distress reports in the area.

Anyone with information that may help identify the owner of the dive float is asked to contact the Coast Guard Sector Honolulu Command Center at 842-2600.
