Hawaii County police arrested and charged a Florida man Wednesday afternoon in Kona for prostitution.

Police arrested Syahril Syahril, 34, after responding to an online advertisement for prostitution around 3:45 p.m. on Alii Drive.

Police did not disclose the location of the incident or the online website where the advertisement was found.

Lt. Sherry Bird of the Hawaii Police Department’s Vice Section, Area II, said an investigation led to the arrest of Syahril.

He was released for his own recognizance and will head to Kona District Court on May 14 at 1 p.m.
