Lynette Mendonsa

Lynette “Lynn” Kaanohiakalani Mendonsa, 70, of Hilo died April 9, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hakalau, she was a retired preschool teacher and kupuna at Waiakeawaena Elementary School and Hilo Union Elementary School and member of New Hope Hilo and Hale O Na Alii.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. April 23 at New Hope Hilo, 840 Kupulau Road, for a 7 p.m. service. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. April 24 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests aloha attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by husband, David Mendonsa Sr. of Hilo; son, David Mendonsa Jr. of Hilo; daughter, Tanya (Thomas Jr.) Hickcox of Hilo; brothers, Parley (Sandy) Tajon, Francis (Terry) Tajon, Saffrey (Debra) Tajon, all of Hilo; sisters, Dolores (Gilbert) Bugado, Clarisse (Thomas) Ishimine, both of Hilo; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Robert Pfleger

Robert “Bob” Ludwig Pfleger, 56, of Holualoa died April 7, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Jan. 28, 1959, in Ebersberg, Germany, he was a limousine driver for Hawaii Executive Transportation, a commercial bush pilot and member of Grace Community Church and Kona Coffee Growers Association.

He is survived by father, Ludwig (Eileen Branger) Pfleger of Holualoa; mother, Margaret Marseilles of Florida; daughter, Star Pfleger of Alaska; sister, Christine Houck of Alaska; brother, David Pfleger of Washington; one granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Anna Hao

Anna “Ana” Benjamin Hao, 70, of Kalaoa died March 17, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born April 24, 1944, in North Kona, she was a retired housekeeper at the former Keauhou Beach Hotel.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 25 at the Big Game Fishing clubhouse at Honokohau Harbor for a 10 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by husband, Rofley Hao of Kalaoa; daughters, Momilani (Seneti) Kalavi, Sharon Manuel, both of Kalaoa; Brenda (Misinale) Kalavi of Makawao, Maui, Pearl (Ipo Kuikahi) Hao of Pahoa, Roxann (Darryl Bissen) Hao of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Malia Kihe of Captain Cook, Rose Henriques, Josephine Anakalea, both of Kailua-Kona; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

George Grace

George “Keoki” “Doi” Anthony Kalikokealiihelewa-leokamakahonu Grace, 80, of Waikoloa died April 7, 2015, at his home. Born Jan. 22, 1935, in Napoopoo, he was a retired heavy equipment operator, member of Operating Engineers Union Local 3, a Marine Corps Korean War veteran and an Army National Guardsman.

Private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to North Hawaii Hospice, 65-1328 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela, HI 96743.

He is survived by life partner, Judy Rose of Waikoloa; son, Randy (Sandy) Fujishiro of Arizona; daughters, Georgine Deason of Koloa, Kauai, Rochelle Forvilly, Ursula Williams, both of Arizona, Ellen Eberhardt, Joslynne (Jack) Camlin, both of Honolulu; hanai daughter, Lori (Mathiew) Eakin of West Virginia; hanai son, Michael (Debbie) Mangiapane of California; brother, Edward (Joanne) Grace of Mililani, Oahu; sister, Laura Inouye of Kailua-Kona; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Haruo Kitamura

Haruo Kitamura, 85, of Hilo died March 29, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born Jan. 3, 1930, in Hilo, he was an office clerk at the former Hilo Hospital, an Army veteran and member of Piihonua Kumiai.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by brother, Itsuo Kitamura of Hilo; sister, Norma Oshiro of Kaneohe, Oahu; numerous nephews and nieces.
