Perpetuating the Hawaiian culture was the main theme of the Prince Jonah Kuhio 6th Annual Hoolaulea at the West Hawaii Civic Center on April 18.

Those in attendance were treated to Hawaiian music, hula and cultural demonstrations as well as a free lunch. Bouncing Castles were a big hit with the keiki while the adults were able to visit numerous information booths sponsored by local community organizations. Winners of an essay contest open to area students in middle and high school read their award winning writing on the legacy of Prince Kuhio.
