Boulders cleared, Highway 19 reopens at Kaawali Gulch

Both lanes of Highway 19, also known as Mamalahoa Highway,where it passes through Kaawalii Gulch reopened about 1 p.m. Friday after crews removed large boulders on the roadway.

The Hawaii Police Department reported the lane closure, in the vicinity of mile makers 28 and 29 in Laupahoehoe, shortly after noon on Friday.
