Albert Snook

Albert “Al” Nobel Snook, 88, of Hilo died May 6, 2015, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born May 23, 1926, in Tahlequah, Okla., he was the owner and contractor of Snook Home Repair, a World War II Army veteran and member of the Foresters, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Royal Order of Moose and Elks BPOE.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. May 11 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo. Additional services will be held in California. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by life partner, Joanne Ellison; sons, Larry Snook, Jerel Snook; stepdaughter, Kathleen Ellison; brother, Marvin Snook; 58 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Harold Nakagawa

Harold Hideyuki Nakagawa, 61, of Honokaa died April 6, 2015, at North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea. Born March 25, 1954, in Honokaa, he was a former employee of Hamakua Sugar Co. and a self-employed coffee farmer.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by father, Toshiyuki Nakagawa of Honokaa; brothers, Alan (Charlene) Nakagawa of Waimea, Kevin (Cindy) Nakagawa of San Diego; one niece; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jon Ono

Jon Ryoichi Ono, 68, of Hilo died April 30, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 11, 1946, in Honolulu, he was a retired attorney.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. May 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4:30 p.m service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Yvonne Ono of Hilo; daughter, Yvette Ono of San Jose, Calif.; son, Kelvin (Teri Lynn) Ono of Hilo; sister, Ann (George) Sumida of Honolulu; three grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Archie Padilla

Archie S. Padilla, 95, of Kailua-Kona died Sept. 14, 2015, at his residence. Born May 20, 1919, in El Paso, Texas, he was a retired production manager for Lockheed Corp. in Burbank, Calif., and a Navy veteran.

A service and inurnment will be held 9 a.m. May 20 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.

He is survived by daughter, Olivia Padilla of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Helen (Ted) Turner of Tucson, Ariz., Christine (Bob) Madrid of Queens Creek, Ariz.; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jody Hiraishi

Jody Jean Hiraishi, 54, of Kailua-Kona died April 7, 2015, at her residence. Born Feb. 16, 1961, in Kealakekua, she was lead general service attendant for Kukio Golf and Beach Club.

A celebration of life will be held 10 a.m. May 23 at Old Kona Airport Park’s main events pavilion with service at 11 a.m. Family requests casual attire to be worn.

She is survived by husband, Hank Hiraishi of Kailua-Kona; mother, Adeline Lewi of Kailua-Kona; brother, Lester Lewi of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Sandra Lewi, Francine Lewi, Val Lewi, Cheryl Lewi, Bernie Lewi and Irene Perez, all of Kailua-Kona, Gladys (Robert) Silva of Wyoming, Dora (Daniel) Perreira of Kohala; brothers, John (Barbara) Caravalho of Kalaoa, Henry (Leilani) Caravalho and Ernest Caravalho, both of Waimea, Christino (Leona) Caravalho of Hilo, Ranold Caravalho of Kohala; hanai sister, Michelle (Albert) Amaral of Kailua-Kona; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Joshua Pittman

Joshua Kawika Ray Pittman, 23, of Kurtistown died April 30, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in California.

Services will be held at a later date in Honolulu.

He is survived by mother, Julia (Daniel) Cruz of Kurtistown; grandparent, Ann Chapman of California; son, Chanceton Grace-Lane of Honolulu; brother, Jason Baclaan of Honolulu; sisters, Elaine (RJ) Baclaan-Soberano and Jenevieve Baclaan, both of Honolulu; one niece; numerous nephews and cousins.

John Tinsman III

John “Johnny Cab” “Mettler” Lake Tinsman III, 40, of Hilo died May 5, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Aug. 6, 1974, in Denver, he was a chef, appliance technician and former member of the Hawaii Army National Guard.

No services are planned.

He is survived by daughter, Maria Tinsman of Louisville, Ga.; mother, Marilyn Yamamoto of Las Vegas; sisters, Julie Tinsman of Yamhill, Ore., Jenny Yamamoto, Jamie Yamamoto, both of San Diego, Calif.; hanai brother, Bill Stockmaster Jr. of Hilo.
