Hisao Mihara
Hisao Mihara, 83, of Hilo died May 15, 2015. Born in Hilo, he was an Army veteran and retired maintenance worker for the former Hilo Hospital.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 7 p.m. May 25 at Ballard Family Mortuary in Hilo for a celebration of life.
He is survived by brother, Mitsunori Mihara of Hilo; sisters, Jean Tomosada of Hilo, Masako Kawasaki of Oahu; numerous nieces and nephews.

Haruo Shimazu
Haruo Shimazu, 91, of Hilo died April 20, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 4, 1924, in Hilo, he was the retired proprietor of H. Shimazu Contractor, member of Honpa Honwanji Hilo Betsuin Buddhist Temple and an Army veteran.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Tomiko Shimazu of Hilo; daughter, Carolyn (Steven) Streitel of Cleveland; son, Nelson Shimazu of Sacramento, Calif.
