Lily Texeira

Lily Yuriko Texeira, 88, of Kailua-Kona, and formerly of Hilo, died May 13, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 2, 1927, in San Mateo, Calif., she was a retired public accountant, spent time in an internment camp in Colorado during World War II, was a secretary and English translator for the U.S. Embassy Office in Japan, member of the Association of Public Accountants, state Board of Accountants, Zonta Club, St. Joseph’s PTA and other nonprofit organizations and was an award recipient of the Ronald Regan, Wartime Apology Recognition for internment of Japanese-Americans during World War II.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. June 3 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for a 10:30 a.m. Mass, followed by urn committal at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. The family requests that aloha attire be worn.

She is survived by daughters, Judy (Alika) Desha of Kona, Brenda (Steve) Maranville of Shingle Spring, Calif., Marianne (John) Veneri of Mountain View; sons, Jeffery Texeira of Honolulu, Jason (Todd Holt) Texeira of Tulsa, Okla.; hanai daughter, Anel Garcia-Magana of Maui; hanai son, Richard Gouveia of Hilo; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Concepcion Higa

Concepcion del Mar “Connie” Higa, 90, of Honolulu and formerly of Hilo and Kona died May 16, 2015, in Honolulu. Born in Onomea, she was a self-employed seamstress, former sales representative for Von Hamm Young, BJ Furniture and GEM Store in Hilo.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. June 5 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Papaikou, for an 11 a.m. Mass. A reception follows. Family requests casula attire be worn. Flowers are welcome. Online condolences may be posted at oahumortuary.com.

She is survived by sons, Michael (Josephine) del Mar, Graciano (Colleen) del Mar, Douglas del Mar, Jesus (Debra) del Mar Jr.; daughters, Marcel (Malcolm) Smith, Pearla (Derek) Olaso, Jewel Moore; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; niece and nephews.

Maria Balmilero

Maria Balmilero, 98, of Paauilo died May 14, 2015, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born June 20, 1916, in Vitar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a homemaker and member of St. Columbus Episcopal Church in Paauilo.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. June 6 at St. Columbus Episcopal Church in Paauilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial will be at St. Columbus Episcopal Church Cemetery in Paauilo. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Isidro Balmilero of Philippines, Paterno (Gloria) Balmilero of Paauilo, Menelio (Luisa) Balmilero of Honolulu; sister, Concordia Abad of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Marsha Pacheco

Marsha Ann Pacheco, 59, of Kurtistown died May 14, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 10, 1955, in Hilo, she was a certified nurse’s aid for Life Care Center, Hilo Hospital and the former Interim Home Health Care.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. June 6 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Bert Tagawa of Kurtistown; daughters, Jaime (Lance Wilson) Enoka of Kurtistown, Anya (Jackson Bauer) Tagawa of Hilo; son, Kainoa Arakaki of Kurtistown; mother, Irene Pacheco of Wainaku; brothers, Robert (Sue) Pacheco of Ocean View, Alan (Naomi) Pacheco of Kalopa; sister, Cathleen Pacheco of Wainaku; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Delila Wike

Delila “Dollie” Irene Wike, 78, of Kailua-Kona died May 24, 2015, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born June 29, 1936, in Paint, Pa., she worked as an accountant with Royal Hawaiian Air Service and Kona Hauling Service and was the former owner of Errand Runners and Kona Flower Shoppe.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by sons, Gerald (Jolene) Wike of Kailua-Kona, Ivan (Lena) Wike of Salt Lake City; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
