It’s Girl’s Night Outback at Kahilu Theatre.
Australia’s hottest export Thunder From Down Under takes over the Waimea venue’s stage for two intimate Las Vegas-style shows that offer the chance to get up close and personal with the hunks. Performances are slated 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
The guys, who call a permanent show at the Excalibur Hotel &Casino in Las Vegas home, will render ladies’ wildest dreams into reality as they showoff their sexy, chiseled bodies in an array of seductive dance routines accentuated by cheeky humor and boy-next-door charm. The fully interactive experience will also feature the blokes dancing on tabletops and making their way through the crowd.
“Expect to be thoroughly entertained on a broad range. It’s very crowd-engaging, very choreographed and entertaining,” said Leigh Hawira, 36, a native Maori from New Zealand, who will be performing in both Waimea shows. “We’ve got all types of guys. We have a whole lot of crowd interaction. Kind of have an open mind as to what you think is going to happen and the ladies should be excited. It’s definitely going to be a good ladies night out if you want to get your friends together and let your hair out.”
A few lucky ladies will even get to join in the fun on stage.
“You’re going to have let your mind wander about that one. I can’t give away all the secrets about what’s going to happen on that one,” he said, adding that the performance is “sexually tasteful.”
The Tuesday and Wednesday shows mark the first time Thunder From Down Under has traveled beyond Oahu to perform on the neighbor islands. The troupe, which travels with six hunks, last visited the state in 2009, hosting shows only on Oahu, said Hawira, who has performed with Thunder From Down Under for about seven or eight years, and recently returned to the show after a couple year hiatus.
“We’re super excited because all the locals keep telling us that if we can get to all the islands just how beautiful it is,” he said. “I am going to be trying to check out every local spot I can possibly find, especially up in the mountains. I’m definitely looking forward to it.”
Tickets for Girl’s Night Outback range from $41.50 to $61.50 and are available online at www.kahilutheatre.org or at the Kahilu Theatre Box Office. At the door, tickets increase by $5.50. The event is for adults age 18 and older. ■
