Mollie Chun

An obituary for Mollie K.H. Chun, 79, of Hilo contained an incorrect service date. Friends may call at 9 a.m. July 2 at The House Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at 1 p.m. at Homelani Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gene Mistunami

Gene Ichiro Mitsunami, 81, of Waimea died June 28, 2015, at home. Born in Kauai, he retired from Hawaii Electrict Light Co. as a diesel operator.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 4 at Kamuela Hongwanji Mission for an 11 a.m. service.

He is survived by wife, Violet Mitsunami of Waimea; son, Blane Mitsunami of Honolulu; daughters, Lynn (Santos) Barbasa and Faye Mitsunami, both of Honolulu; sisters, Florence Kawabata of Honolulu, Pearl Ota of Arizona; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Florence Souza

Florence Mae “Aunty Flo” Souza, 71, of Hilo died June 22, 2015, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired hairdresser, owner of the former Banyan Tree Beauty Salon, member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Big Island Ballroom Dancing Club and the Divine Divas O Hilo Red Hat Society.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. July 6 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service, followed by burial at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by son, Karl (Kehau) Kahoonei of Hilo; daughters, Jaynel (Pancho) Aldana of Hilo, Sherrie (Ben Cortez) Cronkite of Mountain View; brother, Diego Mantalaba of Honolulu; sister, Maggie Consejio of Waianae, Oahu; hanai daughters, Carrie (Randy) Felipe of Honolulu, Eunice Bagorio of Hilo; hanai son, Shorn De Silva of Hilo; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Aloha Carvalho

Aloha Nicolasa Carvalho, 93, of Hawaiian Paradise Park died Jan. 1, 2015, at the Oahu Care Facility. Born in Waialua, Oahu, she was a retired supervisor and chief admitting officer in charge of the Admissions Office and Reception/Switchboard Units at the former Hilo Hospital, member and pianist for the Olaa First Hawaiian Congregational Church.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. July 7 at Haili Congregational Church for a 10:30 a.m. celebration of life. A graveside service follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. A celebration luncheon will follow. Family requests aloha attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Raymond Carvalho II and Mark (Carrie) Carvalho, both of Hawaiian Paradise Park; daughter, Maria Carvalho of Honolulu; brother, Ben Racelis of Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rab Puri

Rab Singh Puri, 75, of Kailua-Kona died June 23, 2015, at home. Born Feb. 14, 1940, in Lahore, Pakistan, he was a retired mechanical engineer for American President Lines and Matson, a Life Master duplicate bridge player and member of Kona Bridge Club.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.

He is survived by wife, Lynn Puri of Kailua-Kona; sons, Matt (Clare) Gomes of Pleasanton, Calif., Dale (Greg) George of San Francisco; sister, Saroj (Rajender) Pachauri of New Delhi; two grandsons; one nephew; numerous nieces.
