Aquatic center a wonderful place
I am swimming daily to help with my rehabilitation from a serious accident.
It is most essential for all of us in the water to know we are safe. Our lifeguards give us that assurance, working very long hours watching our every move. Please, as our sessions end reward them with a big mahalo and a hand shake. There is no cost to being thoughtful and it warms the heart.
The Kona Community Aquatic Center has struggled hard for many long years to bring us a top of the line facility. It is so superior compared to others on this island and around Hawaii, with the best quality of water in all pools, clean bathrooms and change rooms, hot water in our showers (so nice). The general public needs to be aware of all this, appreciate it and start to enjoy it more.
There is lots to do: swimming lessons, IRONMAN training, family recreational areas (so much fun for everyone), Wonderful gym workout area, plus lots of games, activities and much more.
It is places like this that makes our beautiful Kona such a wonderful area to live and raise our families.

Rail mess may come to Big Island via taxes
The Oahu railroad financial mess may seem far away and not of much concern to us Big Island residents. Better pay attention folks. That tax nightmare is going to be reaching out its greedy claws to the outer islands soon.
The old alii families that still own most of the land in Hawaii Nei have found clever schemes to skim lots of cream off the top of that multibillion dollar boondoggle. The Oahu taxpayers want us to share the pain.
