A Wednesday afternoon blaze destroyed a home on Tangerine Drive in Pahoa.

The fire, reported at 2 p.m., had engulfed 30 to 50 percent of the house, causing an estimated $60,000 in damage, according to the Hawaii County Fire Department.

Four engines and two medical units responded to the scene.

The fire was reported out at 2:45 p.m. The occupants were not home at the time, officials said.
