William Becker

William “Leonard” Becker, 90, of Kailua-Kona died July 15, 2015, at his residence. Born Dec. 6, 1924, in Shafter, Calif., he was a retired auto body business owner.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. July 21 at Mokuaikaua Church for a 10 a.m. service. Refreshments follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745.

He is survived by wife, Betty Becker of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Sharon (Milton) Miles of Rathdrum, Idaho, Debbie (Ronald) Horst of Kailua-Kona; son, James (Linda) Becker of Santa Fe, N.M.; seven grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Adelina Ebanez

Adelina “Lina” Yabes Ebanez, 85 of Hilo died July 13, 2015. Born in Pahala, she was a retired cosmetologist, worked as a waitress/head waitress and bartendress for numerous establishments, was an usherette for the Hilo Palace theaters and Hawaii Theaters and was a member of the Hilo United Methodist Church.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. July 23, at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers and lei are welcome.

She is survived by sons, Ross Ebanez Sr., Brian Ebanez, both of Hilo, Scot (Karen) Ebanez of North Pole, Alaska; hanai sisters, Josephine (Nicolas) Galeon, Edith Esteban, both of Hilo; hanai brothers, Santiago (Anna) Cordero of Hilo, Alfred (Lily) Cordero of Winnetka, Calif., Leonardo (Elaine) Cordero of Glendale, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Concepcion Agbigay

Concepcion Aglupos Agbigay, 88, of Hilo died June 26, 2015, at her residence. Born Sept. 18, 1926, in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a diversified farmer, homemaker and member of the Annak Ti Batac Association of Hawaii and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. July 24 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a visitation. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. and an all-night vigil will follow at the family residence. Friends may call again at 11 a.m. July 25 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a noon Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn. Burial will follow at Alae Cemetery, Section K.

She is survived by daughters, Ernesta Dela Cruz, Ofelia (Winston) Solmerin, both of Hilo, Edita (Candylario) Castro, Emelyn (Dairyll) Ilar and Amelia (Nestor) Baclig, all of Los Angeles; sons, Alberto (Adela) Agbigay, Erlindo (Leonora) Agbigay and Wenceslao (Mildred) Agbigay, all of Hilo; sisters, Valentina Ortal and Leonila Nicolas, both of Philippines; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.

Irene Johnson

Irene “Rene” Medeiros Johnson, 84, of Hilo died July 14, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired sales clerk for the former Kurohara’s Shop for Men and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call at 8:30 a.m. July 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 9:45 a.m. eulogy and 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Homelani Memorial Park. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by son, Daniel (Cherie) Grant-Johnson of Hilo; daughters, Jacquelyn (Edward) Johnson, JoAnn Pacheco, Jennifer (Thomas) Bettis, all of Hilo; sister, Patricia (Ronald) Takamoto of Hilo; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one nephew; one niece.

Margaret Bullard

Margaret Kuulei Adline Bullard, 59, of Hilo died June 28, 2015, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker, formerly worked at Del Monte Plantation on Oahu, The Arc of Hilo, Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council and was a member of Hui Malama.

Friends may call at noon July 25 at 16 E. Ohea St. in Hilo for a celebration of her life. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Philip Makuakanelealiiokalani Kealoha, 54, of Opihikao died June 15, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a self-employed handyman.

Phillip Losalio Sr.

Phillip Komoalii Losalio Sr., 78, of Kealia died June 16, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 30, 1936, in Pahala, he was a retired bellman at Royal Kona Resort and the former Kona Hilton Hotel, a McCandless ranch hand and cowboy, coffee farmer, busboy at the former Kona Hilton Hotel, founding member of the Kona Rodeo Club, honorary member of Pukaana Congregational Church, member of the Kona Polo Team, the Lions Club, Hookena-Honaunau Kumiai, Hookena School Parent Teacher’s Organization, a coach and he served in the Hawaii Army National Guard.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. July 25 at the Pukaana Congregational Church in Kealia for a 10 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers and lei are welcome.

Sanji Matsumoto

Sanji “Sonny” Matsumoto, 90, of Keopu died July 4, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 19, 1925, in Keopu, he was the former proprietor of the old Kailua Garage, a coffee farmer, member of Daifukuji Soto Mission, Kumamoto Kenjin Kai, Keopu Citizen’s Club and a World War II Army veteran.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. July 25 at the Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Kazuko Matsumoto of Keopu; daughters, Ann Matsumoto of Japan, Karen (Ray Moody) Matsumoto of Honolulu, Lillian (Kitt) Felte of Keopu; hanai son, Francisco (Kanani) Leanio of Kalaoa; brothers, Takeshi (Thelma) Matsumoto of Keauhou, Kumio (Patsy) Matsumoto of Keopu; sisters, Nancy Kurihara of Kailua-Kona, Lily (Richard) Saito of Kaneohe, Oahu; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Josephine “Josie” Patricia Fuellas O’Brien-Camarillo, 73, of Honalo died June 12, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 30, 1942, in North Kohala, she was a retired beautician and barber, owner of Josie’s Cut and Style in Kealakekua and a chaplain at Kona Community Hospital.

Friends may call at 8:45 a.m. July 25 at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery for a 9 a.m. service. Interment will follow. The family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.
