The USPTA National Girls 18 team tennis event got underway on Sunday in Claremont, California.
The event brings together teams from 16 sections across the country. The team event format pits section against section and is played in a college format which consists of three doubles matches and six singles matches. The top four seeded teams are Southern California, Southern, Intermountain and Midwest.
The Hawaii girls faced a tough draw and fell to fourth seeded Midwest on day 1. Day 2 finds the Hawaii girls placed against Missouri Valley.
