The fire that burned a large area of Kohala is out, firefighters said.
Thursday night there will be no nightwatch, the firefighters who had followed the fire’s track.
Friday, the fire will be monitored by the normal fire crews, not the overtime teams used so far. Firefighters do expect some flareups in the burned areas from hotspots and will respond.
The blaze began about noon Saturday and was fought with firefighters and equipment from local and nearby agencies.
