Hawaii Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a 26-year-old woman visiting from Chicago.

Britney Pieta went hiking from a residence in Hawaiian Acres on Saturday (Aug. 15), and failed to return, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

She is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, 110 pounds, with long brown hair, green eyes and she wears glasses. She was last seen wearing black pants, a purple shirt, blue jacket and black boots. She also suffers from a medical condition that requires medication.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts should call the department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous may call the islandwide Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
