The National Weather Service in Honolulu has canceled a flash flood warning for Hawaii Island.
Amid the flash flood warning, which lasted most of Monday afternoon, residents, as well as a hiking group, were evacuated and roads were closed.
At 5:35 p.m., Civil Defense reported a road closure at the intersection of Hualalai Road and Guava Lane, also known as Hienaloli Road in Kailua-Kona. That followed the closure of a bridge near Apelanama Road and Kalopa State Park because of flooding.
Shortly after 8 p.m., Civil Defense reported Akoni Pule Highway was closed at Kawaihae Harbor.
All of the roads, with the exception of Kapuna Road in Ahualoa, reopened either late Monday or early Tuesday.

Some residents in the Kawaihae Village area were evacuated. An evacuation center was opened at the Waimea Community Center, Civil Defense said.
