The kupuna of Na Wai Puna o Kona under the direction of kumu Keala Ching organized Friday night’s Halia Ka Nani Holoku Ball at the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay.
Students from Ke Kula o Ehunuikaimalino were on hand to assist in the festivities, helping to bridge the gap between the young and kupuna, according to Ching.
Proceeds from a silent auction helped fund a scholarship for students planning on attending Hawaii Community College — Palamanui Hawaiian studies program.
