Flora Jacildone Daquep, 87, of Hilo died Sept. 16, 2015, at her residence. Born May 9, 1928, in Baguio City, Philippines, she was a retired flower packer for H. Eunice Nursery and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Angelina Gambsky, 86, of Mountain View died Sept. 5, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Papaikou, she was a retired sausage maker with the former Miko Meats and member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Mountain View.

James Kahoilua

James Kimo “Sonny” Kahoilua, 85, of Keaukaha died June 18, 2015, at his home. Born Oct. 11, 1929, in Keaukaha, he was a diver, fisherman, farmer and weaver, had worked for Hilo Ironworks, Hughes Aircraft and overseas in Kwajalein, a scuba diving instructor and member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keaukaha Ward.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 24 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Stake Center, for a 10 a.m. service. Urn committal service follows at Alae Cemetery, Mormon Section. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Sonja Okano

Sonja Gerda Irene Okano, 86, of Yelm, Wash. and formerly of Hilo died Aug. 22, 2015, at her residence. Born in Stockholm, she was a retired employee of Keep Hawaii Beautiful, was a part of starting the litter control program in Hilo as well as the Adopt A Highway program and member and past president of Hilo Women’s Club.

Robin Heu Sr.

Robin Paleka Ahana Heu Sr., 52, of Hilo died Sept. 6, 2015. Born in Kahuku, Oahu, he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ainaola Ward.

Sadako “Alice” Kina, 94, of Hilo died Sept. 1, 2015, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kukuihaile, she was a retired lead lady for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts and member of Puna Hongwanji Mission and Hui Okinawa.

William Glover Jr.

William Roy Glover Jr., 79, of Holualoa died May 7, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Nov. 13, 1935, in Little Rock, Ark., he was a certified public accountant and member of Hawaii Society of CPA, American Insurance of CPA of Missouri, Hawaii and Texas, and a Navy veteran.

Graveside services were held at West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.

He is survived by sons, Ronald (Sue) Glover of Eureka, Mont., William (Jennifer) Glover of Massachusetts, James (Lorraine) Glover and Abraham Glover, both of Ocean View, Richard Glover of Cary, N.C., Parrish Glover of Fort Worth, Texas, Andrew Glover of Denver; daughters, Gigi Glover of Hilo, Annanina (Craig) Taliaferro of Springfield, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Dale Thomas Ninen, 79, of Kurtistown died Sept. 3, 2015, at his residence. Born Dec. 19, 1935, in Cloquet, Minn., he was the proprietor of Mr. Plant Man Plant Maintenance.

Henry Magno

Henry Magno, 82, of Hilo died Aug. 28, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born April 10, 1933, in Olaa, he was a retired customer service representative for Hawaiian Electric Light Co. and member St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and Hawaiian Electric Light Company Golf Club.

Fumiko Koseki Sugiyama, 95, formerly of Hawi died Aug. 13, 2015 at home in Hilo. She was a retired head nurse at Kohala Hospital.

Antone “Tony” Nobriga Borero Jr., 82, of Mountain View died Sept. 8, 2015, at a care home. Born Feb. 12, 1933, in Papaikou, he was retired from the construction industry and member of Laborers’ International Union of North America Local 368.

Stanley Ushijima

Stanley Seiji Ushijima, 99, of Hilo died Aug. 27, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Sept. 3, 1915, in Honolulu, he was a retired field engineer for Hawaiian Telephone Co., World War II Army 100th Infantry Battalion veteran and member of Higashi Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Hilo Daijingu and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6 and a statistician for AJA Baseball.

He is survived by brothers, Charles (Alice) Ushijima of California, Tetsuro Ushijima of Honolulu; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Leanora Costorio, 79, of Honolulu, died Sept. 4, 2015, in Honolulu. Born Jan. 14, 1936, in North Hilo, she was a retired file clerk for Chaney Brooks.

Lorraine Bernadette Brown, 85, of Hilo died Aug. 9, 2015, at her residence. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.
