Volcano Art Center presents the documentary “The Hawaiian Room” Oct. 15.

Over the course of three decades, “The Hawaiian Room” became an incomparable venue through which aloha and Hawaiian culture were shared in vibrant and exciting New York City. Hear from the entertainers, dancers and patrons who made the Hawaiian Room such a special place, and be transported to a time in history when hula, Hawaiian music and aloha enchanted New York.

The film’s Director Ann Marie Kirk and a few of the “Lexi Girls” including Volcano’s own, Nona Wilson, will be on hand to talk story after the film.

The screening starts at 7 p.m. at Volcano Art Center off Old Volcano Road in Volcano. The film is free, however, a $5 donation is suggested. For more information, call VAC at 967-8222.
