Mary Kuahiwinui

Mary “Malia” Kuahiwinui, 87, of Hawaiian Beaches died Sept. 6, 2015, at home. Born March 16, 1928, in North Kona, she was homemaker.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Oct. 14 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by daughters, Kealoha Hanato, Sharon (Bobby) Tamaki and Bernadine (Kenneth Kaupu) Kuahiwinui, all of Hawaiian Beaches, Corrina (Guy Nakamoto) Kuahiwinui of Hilo, Mary Jane Ferreira of Oahu; sons, Mervin (Wilma) Kuahiwinui of Keaukaha, June (Momi) Kuahiwinui of Makakilo, Oahu; 28 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; five hanai grandchildren.

Kobie Bivings

Kobie Daniel Salmo Bivings, 16, of Naalehu died Sept. 6, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 8, 1998, in San Jose, Calif., he was a senior student at Ka‘u High School.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at the family residence, at 95-1239 Ohai Road in Naalehu, for an all-night vigil. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Oct. 17 at the Hongwanji Church in Naalehu for a 10 a.m. service. Burial is at Naalehu Community Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

He is survived by parents, Daniel Bivings and Emely Salmo of Naalehu; brother, Kevin Bivings of Naalehu; sisters, Alyssa Bivings, Amber Bivings, Aliyah Bivings, Alexus Bivings, Angelica Bivings, Ashlyne Bivings and Arhiana Bivings, all of Naalehu; grandparents, Evagrio Salmo and Estelita Salmo of Naalehu.

Jeff Hisashi Tanaka, 21, of Hilo died Oct. 6, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 14, 1993, in Hilo, he worked at the County of Hawaii Department of Public Works Administration office and was a member of the Hawaii Government Employees Association.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. Oct. 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by parents, Curt and Lori Tanaka of Hilo; sisters, Shayla (Micah Tsue) Tanaka and Aisha Tanaka, both of Hilo; grandparents, Hitoshi and Shirley Sakoda of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Richard Kekoaaimoku Davenport, 63, of Hawi died Oct. 6, 2015. He was born in Honolulu.
