Mary Reyes

Mary Keau Reyes, 80, of Papaaloa died Sept. 19, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 7, 1935, in Kapehu, she was a retired forklift operator for the former Hamakua Sugar Co. and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Papaaloa.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Oct. 17 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 10 a.m. service. Burial is at Alae Cemetery, Section K. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by sons, Malvin (Tammy Domingo) Reyes of Pepeekeo, Carl (Georgeann) Reyes of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Fannie (Tremayne) Narte of Kailua-Kona, Winifred (Dominic) Vidinha of Papaaloa; sister, Annie Mokiao of Oahu; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, hanai children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lorraine Kane

Lorraine Hiroko Torigoe Kane, 69, of Kurtistown died Oct. 1, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born Nov. 25, 1945, in Hilo, she was a retired physical therapist for Straub Hospital, Oahu, and Hilo Medical Center and member of Puna Covenant Church.

Friends may call at 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 2 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by husband, Darrell Kane; hanai son, Kalani (Julia Yamanouchi) Kane; hanai daughter, Leah (Thomas) Mariani; mother, Yuriko Torigoe; brothers, Ivan (Helen) Torigoe, Brian Torigoe; sister, Gail (Alan) Yoneshige; one grandson; three nephews; four nieces.

James Fox Jr.

James Leroy Fox Jr., 74, of Papaaloa died Oct. 5, 2015, at his residence. Born in Pittsburgh, he was a retired computer software engineer at the University of Pittsburgh and a Navy veteran.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, Susan Hermanoche of Papaaloa; sons, Shane (Chris T) Fox of Papaaloa, Jason Fox of Norway, David Fox of Pittsburgh; brother, Larry (Sandy) Fox of Pennsylvania; sister, Carol Fox of Pennsylvania; one granddaughter.

James Wise

James “Jimmy” “Babooz” Nathan Haaheo Wise, 74, of Volcano died Sept. 30, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born Feb. 8, 1941, in Honolulu, he was a retired truck driver for the City and County of Honolulu and member of Hawaii Classic Cruisers.

He is survived by daughters, Jamie (Bill Benevides Jr.) Wise of Hilo. Laure (Edward III) Carreira of Honolulu; son, James (Michelle) Wise Jr. of Muncie, Ind.; brothers, Milton (Leimomi) Wise of San Diego, Lee Wise of Hilo, Danny (Lisa) Wise and John Wise, both of California; sister, Nancy (Junior Ortiz) Wise of California; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
