Reynold Ako

Reynold “Rey” Ako, 87, of Kailua-Kona died Oct. 15, 2015, at his residence. Born Nov. 5, 1927, in Holualoa, he was a retired heavy equipment operator, member of Hawaii Operating Engineers Local Union 3 and an Army veteran.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Oct. 24 at Queen Liliuokalani Recreation Center for a celebration of life. A service will be held at 10 a.m. and a luncheon will follow. For information, call 990-3181.

He is survived by daughters, Donna Sepulvida of Kailua-Kona, Georgianna (Steve) Santana of Ocean View, Patricia Wright of Las Vegas; Alan (Linda) Sepulvida of Monterey Park, Calif., Wayne Sepulvida of Ocean View; brother, Valentine (Noe) Ako of Kapaa, Kauai; sisters, Elizabeth Maluihi Lee of Kalaoa, Elaine Spencer, Emma Conjugacion, both of Honolulu, Jane Nunez of California; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Anne Williamson

Anne “Annie” Marie Demler Williamson, 76, of Ocean View died Oct. 10, 2015, at Ka’u Hospital. Born May 5, 1939, in Rochester, N.Y., she was a homemaker.

Private services were held. Memorial donations in her name may be sent to any cancer foundation.

She is survived by husband, Ernest Williamson of Ocean View; numerous friends.

Sumiko Okamoto

Sumiko Okamoto, 90, of Hilo died Sept. 29, 2015, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, she was a housewife, an avid stamp collector and member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission.

Private services were held. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Hilo, 1011 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo, HI 96720.

She is survived by husband, Noboru Okamoto of Hilo; son, Ford (Sylvia Lee) Okamoto of Hilo; brother, James (Jane) Murayama of Hilo; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Yoshiji Sugai

Yoshiji “Mac” Sugai, 92, of Papaikou died Sept. 19, 2015, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born April 5, 1923, in Papaikou, he was retired from Jack’s Tours and the former Hawaiian Equipment Co. and was a member of Niigata Kenjin Kai.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

He is survived by daughter, Stella (Michael) Miyahira of Hilo; sister, Yoshie Hayashida of Honolulu; one granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
