Two talented artists from the Aloha Performing Arts Company will take center stage at 1 p.m. Nov. 14.

The “Three Ms” features soprano Megan Hodge and baritone Miguel Montez who will preform during a concert at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Kailua-Kona. The original church was demolished following the October 2006 earthquakes. A new church was built and dedicated March 26.

Unfortunately, the acoustics were inadequate requiring substantial additional engineering. The concert will help secure funds for the installation of acoustic materials, as well as provide the community an opportunity to see the church.

Hodge is a classically trained pianist and vocalist who recently moved to the Big Island. She has sang with the Chicago Opera and the Atlanta Lyric Theater and was featured on the original cast recording of “Dangerous Liaisons.” Some of her favorite starring roles are Tracy in “Hairspray,” Marion in the “Music Man,” Annie in “Annie Get Your Gun” and Mary Magdalene in “Jesus Christ Superstar.” Hodge, who holds a doctorate in astrophysics, teaches piano and vocal lessons.

Montez is most frequently seen as a performer with the Aloha Performing Arts Company. Before moving to Hawaii 13 years ago, he worked with dozens of theater companies on the mainland, including three seasons with Opera San Jose. Notable roles with APAC include Dr. Henry Jekyll in “Jekyll and Hyde” in 2014 and King Mongkut in “The King and I” in 2010.

The program will feature selections from Broadway musicals such as “Phantom of the Opera,” “The King and I,” “South Pacific,” “Cats” and “Les Miserables.” There will also be operatic arias by composers such as Mozart, Rossini, Handel and Puccini.

Tickets are $20 at the door. For more information, call Sonia Scadden at 329-7133.
