Celerino Cabel

Celerino Madamba Cabel, 83, of Pepeekeo died Nov. 20, 2015, at home. Born Feb. 2, 1932, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired sugar pan man for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co. and a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou and Hilo Senior Tennis Club.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. Nov. 29, 2015, at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Nov. 30 at Immaculate Heart Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial is at Homelani Memorial Park, Ilima Section. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

He is survived by wife, Julieta Cabel of Pepeekeo; sons, Marcel (Margo) Cabel of Kaneohe, Oahu, Romel (Jenny) Cabel of Jacksonville, Fla., Noel (Midori) Cabel of Dyess, Texas, Joel (Jennilyn) Cabel and Michael Cabel, both of Hilo, Bricel (Shaura) Cabel of Waipahu, Oahu, Daniel (Ferly) Cabel of Ewa Beach, Oahu; daughters, Cristeta (David) Wilder of Sandpoint, Idaho, Jocelyn (Allan) Cortez of Hilo, Marie (Donny) Corpuz of Leavenworth, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frederick Kubojiri

Frederick “Fred” Hisashi Kubojiri, 87, of Keaau died Nov. 5, 2015, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Jan. 21, 1928, in Glenwood, he was a retired mechanical repair supervisor for the Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation, worked for the state Department of Agriculture, was an Army veteran and member of Puna Covenant Church.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts.

He is survived by sons, Harry (Jill) Kubojiri of Hilo, Kenneth Kubojiri of Keaau, Edwin Kubojiri of Mountain View; daughters, Marian Hasegawa of Honolulu, Francene Kubojiri of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Taeko Nakamoto

Taeko Nakamoto, 80, of Hilo died Nov. 10, 2015, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born June 7, 1935, in Hilo, she was a secondary education teacher retired from Waiakea High School in Hilo.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

She is survived by husband, Roy Nakamoto of Hilo; daughter, Karen (Raymond Lee) Nakamoto of Hilo; sons, Henry (Joyce) Nakamoto of Hilo, Edward (Audrey) Nakamoto of Honolulu; sister, Itsuko Ochiai of Honolulu; six grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.

George Ito

George Aiji Ito, 81, of Keaau died Nov. 15, 2015, at his residence. Born in Kilauea, Kauai, he was a retired parts manager for Allied Machinery on Oahu, member of SGI-USA and an Army veteran.

Private services were held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.

He is survived by daughter, Linda (Lawrence) Kido of Keaau; son, Clarence (Irene) Konno of Oahu; sisters, Doris (Hidemi) Miyasaki of Kauai, Tomoe Saiki of Los Angeles; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
