The total number of confirmed Big Island dengue cases remained uncharged at 181 on Monday.

Of the confirmed cases, 163 are Hawaii Island residents and 18 are visitors. Thirty-six have been children.

The state Department of Health said Monday that just two of the confirmed cases remain potentially infectious to mosquitoes. The last onset of illness occurred Dec. 20.

Since the end of October, when state health officials first said they were investigating two possible cases of the virus, 715 suspect cases have been excluded based on test results and/or not meeting case criteria.

To report mosquito concerns, contact 322-4880 in West Hawaii and 974-6001 in East Hawaii.
