Dianita Cabalce

Dianita Carino Cabalce, 84, of Keaau died Dec. 22, 2015, at Hilo Medical Center. Born March 29, 1931, in Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she worked at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Keaau.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 8 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. wake service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. Jan. 9 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Keaau for a 10 a.m. Mass. Family requests casual attire be worn. Burial will be at Homelani Memorial Park.

She is survived by husband, Onofre Cabalce of Keaau; daughter, Flory Ito of Kurtistown, Josephine (Andrew) Matias of Keaau, Bella (Hiep) Doan of Paradise Park and Mila (Jude) Javier of Long Beach, Calif.; sons, Nestor (Laudy) Cabalce of Keaau and Milo (Lacher) Cabalce of Hilo; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kim Beatty

Kim Brookes Beatty, 60, of Kailua-Kona died Dec. 21, 2015. Born July 30, 1955, in Fort Wayne, Ind., he worked as a waitress at the old Kona Hilton and later at Huggo’s Restaurant.

Kandi Hooper

Kandi “Rysa” Marysa Daphne Hooper, 28, of Honalo died Jan. 4, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Sept. 12, 1987, in Kealakekua, she was a caregiver and cashier for Napa Auto Parts.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Jan. 16 at Kona Faith Center, 81-6224 Mamalahoa Highway in Captain Cook for a 10 a.m. celebration of life. The family requests casual attire be worn and flowers be omitted.

She is survived by her companion, Kyle Kodama of Honalo; son, Josiah Harp of Honalo; daughter, Faith Harp of Honalo; parents, Mario and Daphne Hooper of Honalo; sister, Margo Hooper of Kent, Wash.; brother, Mario Hooper Jr., of Honolulu; paternal grandmother, Octavia Muraoka of Kailua-Kona; a niece and nephew; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Maria Oldendorf

Maria Oldendorf of Riverside, Calif., and Colorado Springs, Colo., died Dec. 8, 2015, at her home. Born Nov. 15, 1944, she served as president of the Colorado Chapter of American Cancer Society, was a lawyer for the State of Colorado, member of the Hilo Orchid Society and volunteered at the Hilo Medical Center gift shop.

Services will be held in June in Hilo. Donations in her memory may be made to ALS Association, Hilo Woman’s Club, Hospice of Hilo and Haili Church of Hilo

She is survived by husband; stepchildren; grandchildren; sister, Jane (Bill) Boyd of Hilo; nieces and cousins.

Pamela Monro

Pamela A. Monro, 91, of Waimea died Dec. 28, 2015, at Hale Hoola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born Jan. 16, 1924, in Vancouver, British Columbia, she was a condominium manager in San Francisco.

No services will be held.

She is survived by nephew, Bruce Monro of Port Angeles, Wash.; niece, Pamela Maybury, of Port Angeles, Wash.
