Charles Young

Charles Spencer Young, 70, of Honolulu and formerly of Hakalau, Hawaii, died at the Queen’s Medical Center East on Oahu Dec. 22, 2015. He was a retired electronics engineer and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Friends may call at the St. Joseph Catholic Church from 8:30 a.m to 10 a.m. Jan. 11, where a Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. The family requests casual attire.

He is survived by his wife, Yumiko N. Young of Honolulu; mother, Verna Young of Hakalau; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Stella Takahashi

Stella Asayo Takahashi, 62, of Kurtistown died Jan. 5, 2015, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 18, 1953, in Kurtistown, she was a retired cafeteria worker for Pearl City High School.

She is survived by spouse, James Takahashi of Kurtistown; sons, Brian Takahashi, Davin Takahashi, both of Kaneohe, Oahu; daughter, RaeLynn Takahashi of Honolulu; brothers, Roy (Doris) Yamashita of Hilo, Berry (Leslie) Yamashita of Seattle; sister, Carol (Clyde) Tabata of Hilo; one grandchild; two nephews.

Keneka Kaulia

Keneka “Kanaks” Kahulileikamaeha Kaulia, 24, of Kalaoa died Dec. 22, 2015, at his residence. Born March 31, 1991, in Honolulu, he was a vehicle mechanic, provided carpentry services, was a mulch hauler, landscaper, truck driver and a past member of the Kai O Pua Canoe Club.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kailua-Kona for a 7 p.m. funeral service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. Jan. 23 at the Waianae Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 85-574 Old Plantation Road in Waianae, Oahu for an 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at the Nanakuli Cemetery.

He is survived by mother, Yolanda Kaulia of Kalaoa; sister, Haunani (James) Igawa of Honolulu; brothers, Julian-Puni Kaulia of Nanakuli, and Ioane Kaulia of Anchorage, Alaska; hanai sister, Pomaikai Igawa of Honolulu; hanai brothers, Waika Igawa, Koamalu Igawa, both of Honolulu, Jaydian Kaulia, Sage Cruce-Graham and Blaze Cruce-Graham, all of Nanakuli, Oahu; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

John Geise

John Byron Geise, 68, of Pahoa died Jan. 1, 2016. Born May 19, 1947, in Northumberland, Pa., he was a retired senior construction manager for Turner Construction.

He is survived by daughter, Audrey (Darryl) Cadiente of Huntington Beach, Calif.; son, Carl Geise of Pahoa; brother, Leon (Candace) Geise of Northumberland, Pa.; sisters, Fern Geise of Huntington Beach, Calif., Jean (Ky) Azlien of McMinnville, Ore.; two grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
