No additional cases of dengue fever were confirmed on the Big Island over the weekend, health officials said Monday.

No additional cases of dengue fever were confirmed on the island since Thursday, health officials said. Of the confirmed cases, 190 are Hawaii Island residents and 20 are visitors. Forty have been children.

The state Department of Health said just one of the confirmed cases remain potentially infectious to mosquitoes. The last onset of illness occurred Jan. 1.

Since the end of October, 859 suspect cases have been excluded based on test results and/or not meeting case criteria.

Meanwhile, Hookena and Milolii beach parks remain closed because of the outbreak.
