HONOLULU (AP) — Federal and state authorities are searching for a man who didn’t show up to start serving his 10-year prison sentence for meth trafficking in Hawaii.
A federal judge in Honolulu sentenced Luke Warner in April. He was supposed to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons but didn’t show up.
He’s also facing a prison sentence from the state.
The U.S. Marshals Service said Wednesday Warner is a career criminal who has been arrested more than 100 times and is considered one Hawaii’s top 15 most wanted fugitives.
Authorities believe Warner may have fled Hawaii. He has ties in California, Florida, Massachusetts and Iowa. Authorities say he prefers warm climates and may have interest in places such as the Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Guam and Baja, Mexico.
