Stanley Figueroa Sr.

Stanley “Figgy” Peter Figueroa, Sr., 64, of Ocean View died Dec. 29, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital. Born May 7, 1951, in Honokaa, he was a cook at Don Drysdale Restaurant, worked as a coffee and macadamia nut picker, a dishwasher at Basil’s Restaurant, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Jan. 30 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Kealakekua for a 10 a.m. Mass. The family requests causal attire be worn.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Figueroa of Ocean View; sons, Stanley Figueroa Jr., of Honolulu, Anthony Figueroa of San Francisco, Hokulani Figueroa and Christopher Solomon, both of Oahu; daughter, Nora (Charles)Kauwe of Oahu; sister, Mary Jane (Reuben) Llanes of Ocean View; brothers, Ronald (Melodina) Figueroa and Manuel Figueroa Jr., all of Kailua-Kona; 13 grandchildren; three uncles, three aunts; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Clifford Kelepolo

Clifford Kaiwiki Kelepolo, 69, of Captain Cook died Jan. 16, 2016, at Hospice of Kona’s Nakamaru Hale. Born Jan. 6, 1947, in South Kona, he was a retired car washer for McKinley Car Wash.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. Jan. 30 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church beach lot in Honaunau for a 10 a.m. memorial service followed by inurnment in the church’s cemetery. The family request casual attire.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kelepolo of Captain Cook; daughter, La Donna (John) Keehner of Auroroa, Colo.; brothers, Mathew Kelepolo, Wilfred Kelepolo, both of Honolulu, Benedict Kelepolo of Captain Cook; sisters, Hilda Poe of Oregon, Hazel Juanich of Kailua-Kona, Lurline (George) Kina of Keaau; hanai sister, Ola Texeira-Hall of Ocean View; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Don Fisher, Jr.

Don Fisher, Jr., 71, a 22-year resident of Kailua-Kona, died Jan, 21, 2016. He was born May 10, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. An Army veteran, Don was a dentist.

Friends are welcome 9 a.m. Feb. 1, 2016, for military honors at West Hawaii Veteran’s Cemetery, with memorial services to follow at Kona Bible Church, located at the Old Harbor Yacht club, Honokohau Marina.

He is survived by his wife, Merry Ann Fisher of Kailua-Kona; sons, Todd (Lisa) Fisher of Elk Grove, Calif., and Jon Fisher of Olympia, Wash.; brothers, John (Kathryn) Fisher, of Renton, Wash., and Matt (Michelle) Fisher of Olympia, Wash.; three grandchildren, Erin Fisher, Mark Fisher and Jonah Fisher; one great-grandson, a niece and nephew.

Eleanor Benedict

Eleanor Catherine Benedict, 86, of Keaau, passed away Dec. 29, 2015. Eleanor was born on May 26, 1929, in Honolulu. She retired as a chef/baker from Kaneohe Elementary School.

Celebration of life will be at Sure Foundation Church, 16-1592 Pohaku Circle Kea’au, on Jan. 30.Visitation will be at 9 a.m. with service at 10 a.m., refreshments to follow. A second Celebration of Life will be held at Borthwick Mortuary, 1330 Maunakea Street in Honolulu, Feb, 5. Visitation is at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., lunch to follow and a 2 p.m. burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, 45-425 Kamehameha Hwy. Kaneohe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis G. Benedict and son Wayne F. Benedict. She is survived by her sons, Ronald A. (Bobbie) Benedict of Mililani, Darryl J. (Valerie) Benedict of Pearl City and Gary D. (Robin) Benedict of Keaau; sisters, Violet (Manuel) Nascimento of Waialua and Jacquiline Gouveia of Waialua; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol Toyomura

Carol Jean “Mimma” Gravela Toyomura, 70, of Hilo, passed away peacefully Jan. 4, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Carol was born on June 24, 1945, in Ka’u. She retired as a housekeeper for the Hilo Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held at Ballard Family Mortuary- Hilo Feb. 6. Visitation starts at 9 a.m. Service starts at 10:00 a.m.

Martha Cukrov

Martha “Marti” Marie Cukrov, 87, of Keaau, passed away peacefully Jan. 20, 2016. Martha was born on Nov. 8, 1928, in San Francisco. She is retired as an export agent for Gordon Jensen Freight forwarding.

No services will be held.

She is survived by her companion Jack C. Adams of Keaau; son Gregory Cukrov of Soquel, Calif.; daughter Shelley (Jeffrey) Hecht of Keaau; sister Lorraine of Santa Rose, Calif.; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Randy Clyde Molcilio

Randy Clyde Molicilio, 53, of Naalehu, was born in Ka’u on Oct. 8, 1962, and died on Jan. 24, 2016. He worked as a stone mason in construction.

He is survived by spouse Coleen Matthews; parents, Emilio and Frances Molcilio, Jr. of Mt. Ruth Nkasone

Mrs. Ruth Ann Nakasone, age 91, of Kapaau, Kohala, died Jan. 7, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Monticello, Iowa on Oct. 23, 1924, and was retired from the State of Hawaii Department of Education as a business teacher at Kohala High School.

Private services held. No flowers. No koden (monetary offerings).

She is survived by husband, Yoshimi Nakasone of Kapaau, Kohala; numerous relatives in Iowa and Minnesota.

Wayne Nicely

Wayne Todd Nicely, 55, of Captain Cook, died Nov. 23 at Kona Community Hospital. Born Aug. 7, 1960, in Cloquet, Minn., he was a laborer.

He is survived by mother, Elaine Biss of Richland, Wash.; brothers, Don Nicely of Cortez, Colorado, Richard Nicely of Spokane, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Cyrin J. Raymond

Cyrin J. Raymond, 36, of Kealakekua, was born in Kohala on May 23, 1979, and died on Jan. 13, 2016.

He is survived by son Kamahemeha Raymond of Hilo; daughter Iwalani Raymond of Hilo; brothers Moses (Brandi) Raymond of Waikoloa; Charleston Raymond of Kailua-Kona; Charles (Jen-nai) Raymond of Kailua-Kona; and sister Lurline Raymond of Mexico.

Jean Kawachi

Jean Yuriko Kawachi, 85, of Hilo, died at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center Jan. 8, 2016. She was born in Pahala and was a retired sales clerk with Ben Franklin Stores.

Private family services were held. The family requests that donations may be made to the Aloha Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, in memory of the Late Mrs. Kawachi.

She is survived by her sons, Keith Kawachi of Hilo, and Kirk Kawachi of Pahoa; daughters, Karin (Robin) Takahashi of Hilo, and Katrine (Brandon) Konanui of Keaau; sister, Sueko Kaneshiro of Hilo; sister-in-law, Terue Sumida of Hilo; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mikiko Meyer

Mikiko “Miki” Helen Meyer, 87, of Mountain View, formerly of Wahiawa, passed away on Jan. 8, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Sendai, Japan on Feb. 14, 1928. She was a retired bartendress at Dot’s Restaurant in Wahiawa.

Private services will be held. She is survived by son, Jimmy Meyer of Wahiawa; daughter, Mary Hernandez of Honolulu; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
