Police seek ‘Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted’

Big Island police are asking for the public’s help locating three people the department has deemed “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted.”

Ronald Barawis Jr., 38, Melody Familar, 45, and Chanel Mariani, 33, will be featured in the newest edition of the Crime Stoppers TV program “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted,” which begins airing Friday.

Barawis Jr., of Kailua-Kona, is wanted for violating parole and failure to appear. He is also wanted for questioning in another investigation. He is described as 5-foot-9, 140 pounds with brown eyes, dark brown hair and a large tattoo on the right side of his face. Police caution the public not to approach him as he is considered armed and dangerous.

Familar, of Hilo, is wanted on a $50,000 warrant for violating probation. She is also wanted for questioning in another investigation. She is described as 5-foot-8, 130 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Mariani, also of Hilo, is wanted for violating probation and for violating release on bail. She also wanted for questioning in an unrelated case. She is described as 5-foot-6, 142 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She may be in Puna.

“Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” is a project of Crime Stoppers Hilo Inc., which is a partnership of the business community, the media and the police. It was inspired by the national TV show, “America’s Most Wanted.” The program airs on Na Leo O Hawaii Community Television Ch. 54 on Sundays at 5 p.m. and Fridays at 5:30 p.m. It also airs intermittently on Ch. 53.
